Whether you’re a Disney enthusiast or just looking for a princess-esque wedding dress, choosing a gown inspired by one of the Disney princesses is an imaginative and unique way to set your look apart. We know the life of a Disney princess is less than realistic in today’s world, but there's no harm in channeling the aesthetic of your favorite character and feeling like the Belle of your ball. After all, your wedding day should feel like a fairytale, so a magical ballgown is definitely in order.

Shopping for a Disney princess dress may pose a bit of a challenge since you’ll have to determine what you think encapsulates the look of the character you're trying to emulate. What you may see as the perfect match to Cinderella’s ballgown, may not read the same to somebody else. But that’s not a bad thing, as trying to copy a gown too closely may look more like a costume than a wedding dress. Plus, it’s much more fun explaining what inspired your ensemble, and it's an opportunity to show off some creativity.

With that in mind, we looked to a few iconic Disney princesses for wedding dress inspiration. Here are a few gowns that best emulate the heart of what it means to look magical on the big day.

Size Range: Contact brand | Length: Floor-length | Material: Silk tulle and sequins

Cinderella's ballgown is perhaps one of the most recognized dresses in the world of Disney, so it's no surprise that brides-to-be may try to replicate the magical look. This bridal gown from Zuhair Murad embodies the fantastical, sparkly spirit of Cinderella's dress without looking overly costume-y.

Size Range: 2-18 | Length: Floor-length | Material: Satin

For a more subdued take on the Cinderella look, consider this pale blue gown from Vera Wang. It’s perfect for a more laidback bride who still wants to embody the princess’s aesthetic.

Size Range: Contact brand | Length: Floor-length | Material: Silver-embossed tulle

This gown from Galia Lahav appears as though it’s been sprinkled in fairy dust, which is fitting for a Cinderella-inspired look. The cat-eye corset is an unexpected element that balances out the sweet demeanor of the gown. We also love the extra dose of sparkle that comes from the bejeweled belted bow.

Size Range: Contact brand | Length: Floor-length | Material: Silver-embossed tulle

Who can forget Princess Tiana’s eye-catching green gown from the Princess and the Frog? While green may not be the most conventional bridal color, take a risk with the striking hue by opting for this Andrew Kwon number. The chartreuse-hued gown features a tiered skirt, and fluttering sleeves embellished with 3D floral embroidery.

Size Range: Contact brand | Length: Floor-length | Material: Lace

Capture Tiana's fun-loving and creative spirit with this enchanting ballgown, courtesy of Amsale. It features floral, leafy embellishments and an arched seam, both of which hark back to the bayou-inspired details of Tiana’s green ballgown.

Size Range: 2-12 | Length: Midi | Material: Recycled polyester

If you're looking for a simple and sweet bridal look, take inspiration from Snow White’s classic and minimalist gown. The hallmark of Snow White’s look is her puffed sleeves, so try this Rotate Birger Christensen midi dress, which features dramatic puff sleeves and a simple silhouette.

Size Range: 0-16 | Length: Floor-length | Material: Polyester, cotton

While it may not have puff sleeves, this Markarian gown gives off major Snow White vibes. The scooped neckline and A-line cut also evoke the princess’s aesthetic.

Size Range: Contact brand | Length: Floor-length | Material: Embroidered shimmer lace

For a black-tie wedding, capture Snow White’s look through this Rita Vinieries gown. The shimmering translucent skirt adds a bit of glam that gives Snow White’s look a formal twist.

When it comes to Jasmine’s look, it’s all about effortless elegance. While harem pants may not be your number one choice for your wedding day, capture the feeling by opting for a gown with blouson sleeves.

Size Range: 00-24W | Length: Floor-length | Material: Tulle

Fall head over heels for this bridal set from Willowby, which we could definitely see Jasmine loving. The top has an off-the-shoulder neckline— similar to Jasmine’s—and the combination of a cropped top with a flowy bottom also harks back to the princess’s look.

Size Range: Contact brand | Length: Floor-length | Material: Tulle, silk organza

It’s hard not to think of Belle when you see this swoon-worthy ballgown from Andrew Kwon. The skirt is made from over 100 yards of tulle, which is certainly princess-worthy. Plus, the pale yellow color reads Belle without looking gaudy or like a costume.

Size Range: UK6-18 | Length: Midi | Material: Tulle

For a cocktail-style gown, this off-the-shoulder midi dress is golden (literally). It’s also a fabulous option for a rehearsal dinner ensemble or as a second bridal look on the big day.

Size Range: 0-12 | Length: Floor-length | Material: Taffeta, organza

Ariel actually does wear a wedding dress in The Little Mermaid, similar to this Danielle Frankel number. The structured bodice and puffed sleeves are similar to the style Ariel dons at the end of the film.

Size Range: Contact brand | Length: Floor-length | Material: Lace

We love this Galia Lahav metallic gown for a more literal take on the mermaid aesthetic. The dress features a romantic sweetheart neckline and crystal bead strands attached to the corset bodice.

Size Range: XXS-XL | Length: Floor-length | Material: Nylon, silk, spandex, recycled polyester

On the other hand, if you’re looking for a more discrete take on the famous mermaid’s look, consider this unconventional gown. The bra-like bodice is a similar style to Ariel’s shell bra, just with a bit more coverage. Plus, the tiered ruffled skirt ever so slightly resembles seaweed.

Size Range: Contact brand | Length: Floor-length | Material: Mikado

If you’re pulling inspiration from Aurora, the silhouette is key which is why we recommend this princess-style ballgown from Pronovias. What truly makes this dress stand out, though, is the cathedral-length train that will trail behind you as you walk down the aisle.

Size Range: 0-14 | Length: Floor-length | Material: Satin

For a slightly more wallet-friendly take on Sleeping Beauty’s look, we are fans of this luxe-looking satin gown from ASOS. The structured neckline and full skirt are elements we could definitely see Aurora gravitating towards on her wedding day.

When shopping for a Disney-inspired wedding dress, the most important thing is to steer clear of any costume-y designs. The key is to take inspiration from elements of a Disney princess, not to copy it exactly. For example, if you love Snow White and want to replicate her dress, opt for a gown with puff sleeves. Snow White’s style is minimalistic, so you’ll want to stay away from embellishments and long trains. On the other hand, if you are looking for a Cinderella-inspired look, you’ll want a princess-style ballgown that sparkles. Your best bet is to look at what makes each dress unique and pull from that.

Choosing a Disney princess dress is also a great opportunity to pull a bit of color into your bridal look. Soft tones like Belle’s pale yellow gown or Tiana’s chartreuse green dress may inspire your search if you’re looking for an unconventional wedding dress.

You’ll have the best luck searching for Disney-inspired gowns with veteran designers like Vera Wang and Zuhair Murad. These bigger brands tend to carry more intricate ballgowns. Amsale, Andrew Kwon, and Galia Lahav are also brands that carry more unique, ballgown-style dresses.

Most princess-inspired gowns feature lots of luxe fabrics and embellishments, meaning they might fall on the more expensive side. This is also the case if you choose a higher-end designer. On the other hand, there are certainly ballgowns out there that are more budget-friendly, so it varies.
